Why Have an Electrical Survey

The early discovery of rising temperatures of electrical components and cables is key to preventing equipment failure and electrical fires. Thermal imaging can detect arcing, overload, insulation failure, tracking, conductor fractures and loose connections. Discovering an issue before it causes a machine fault or fire and planning maintenance is much more cost effective than waiting for a breakdown to occur.

The use of a high end thermal camera and the knowledge of a Cat 2 thermographic engineer give A.B. Thermographic Surveys the ability to assess your control panels, distribution boards and bus bars and spot any discrepancies and high temperatures. All temperature readings are compared to manufacturer data sheets and where possible to other similar components so as to not give false information.

The engineer will thermally tune the images to give a clear understanding of where the heat is being generated. The images can clearly show the difference between circuit overload and loose connections, and will show where the loose connection is. In all instances when a fault is detected our engineer with over 20 years industrial electrical experience will give advice on remedial actions to be taken.
